Procurement Manager - Raw Material

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Sourcing and Purchasing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials procurement, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards. Source materials at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish favorable terms and conditions for procurement transactions. Continuously assess supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Market Monitoring and Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and availability of raw materials. Conduct regular market analysis to optimize purchasing decisions, mitigate risks, and ensure continuity of supply.
• Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders: Work closely with internal departments such as projects, production, engineering, quality control, and finance to forecast raw material requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly. Foster cross-functional collaboration to optimize procurement processes and achieve business objectives.
• Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels effectively to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, while optimizing working capital utilization. Implement inventory control measures and demand forecasting techniques to ensure optimal inventory levels.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards for quality, safety, and ethical sourcing practices. Generate reports and analyze data related to procurement activities to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Proven track record of 10-12 years in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in procurement software such as SAP and Microsoft Office Suite. Hands-on experience in MIS and report development is desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Thorough knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
