Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager – Package/Plant Engineering will lead a team of engineers and drafters in the creation, coordination, and delivery of high-quality engineering output for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. They will also ensure the provision of timely and accurate engineering drawing sets to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the generation and delivery of engineering outputs, including P&ID, General Arrangement (GA) layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for EPC projects.
- Ensure the BOM is accurately filled into the SAP system, coordinating the supply chain management and procurement process.
- Utilize and oversee the application of engineering software such as Plant3D, AutoCAD Mechanical, and other relevant tools to produce project deliverables.
- Coordinate effectively with the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) team to ensure alignment in project execution.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet established standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative, productive, and positive work environment.
- Monitor and report on project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders and senior management.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from a reputed institute. A master’s degree or other advanced education would be a plus.
- A minimum of 12-14 years (suggest 15-20 years) of experience in package/plant engineering specifically in delivering engineering output for EPC projects,
- Solid experience in the use of engineering software such as Plant3D, AutoCAD Mechanical, and other similar tools.
- Proven experience in coordinating with E&I teams.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for BOM management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Experienced in Chemical or Petrochemicals or Paint or Fertilizer or Pharma or Plastic industry, as well as an understanding of codes and regulations pertaining to facility design and engineering.
- Knowledge of design reviews, HAZOP & P&ID reviews, customer/supplier interface, and construction
- Critical thinker who can think of creative and effective ways to improve existing designs.
- Enable solving complex problems, trade-off & prioritize design decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
