Job Purpose:

The Senior Manager – Package/Plant Engineering will lead a team of engineers and drafters in the creation, coordination, and delivery of high-quality engineering output for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. They will also ensure the provision of timely and accurate engineering drawing sets to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the generation and delivery of engineering outputs, including P&ID, General Arrangement (GA) layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for EPC projects.
  2. Ensure the BOM is accurately filled into the SAP system, coordinating the supply chain management and procurement process.
  3. Utilize and oversee the application of engineering software such as Plant3D, AutoCAD Mechanical, and other relevant tools to produce project deliverables.
  4. Coordinate effectively with the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) team to ensure alignment in project execution.
  5. Ensure all engineering deliverables meet established standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  6. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative, productive, and positive work environment.
  7. Monitor and report on project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders and senior management.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from a reputed institute. A master’s degree or other advanced education would be a plus.
  2. A minimum of 12-14 years (suggest 15-20 years) of experience in package/plant engineering specifically in delivering engineering output for EPC projects,
  3. Solid experience in the use of engineering software such as Plant3D, AutoCAD Mechanical, and other similar tools.
  4. Proven experience in coordinating with E&I teams.
  5. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for BOM management.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with an ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  9. Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
  10. Experienced in Chemical or Petrochemicals or Paint or Fertilizer or Pharma or Plastic industry, as well as an understanding of codes and regulations pertaining to facility design and engineering.
  11. Knowledge of design reviews, HAZOP & P&ID reviews, customer/supplier interface, and construction
  12. Critical thinker who can think of creative and effective ways to improve existing designs.
  13. Enable solving complex problems, trade-off & prioritize design decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent
  2. Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
