Spices Grinding Plant

1. Grinding Plants Designed and Manufactured by us are suitable for Grinding :

  • Mix Spices ( Mix Masala)/ Curry Powder.
  • Individual Spices
  • Pre Crushing of Turmeric ,Chilly and Dry Ginger

2. For Mixed Spices Plant shall work in Batch Operation. This shall comprise operations such as

  • Roasting / Drying of Spices such as Chilly, Coriander, Cumin etc.
  • Pulverizing
  • Blending

Final Product shall be Curry Powder / Mix Masala (Spice) Powders etc.

3. For Individual Spices in Powder Form it shall be continuous Process comprising of :

  • Pre Crushing of Spices such as Turmeric / Chilly
  • Final Grinding
  • Screening if desired

4. Prior to grinding of various ingredients of Mix Spices (Curry Powder) such as CORIANDER, CUMIN SEEDS, CURRY LEAFS, ANISEED, CARDAMOM, CASSIA MINT etc. it is recommended to ROAST them. By roasting moisture content in these spices is reduced. This helps in Grinding and Roasting enhances the AROMA of Spices.

5. To take care of Roasting we propose LPG Gas Fired PAN ROASTER.

6. All the Spices stated in point no. 4 above need to be mixed in required proportion and then Roasted / Dried, depending upon recipes / type of Curry Powder / Mix Masala (Spice) required.

7. After these Spices are roasted and cooled to room temperature they can be loaded in to Grinding Mill through Bucket Elevator. Bucket elevator is provided with Frequency vary Drive Unit to control the feed rate to Grinding Mill.

8. RIECO Make Micro Pulveriser / Mill is provided with Product Collection System comprising of Pick-Up Hopper, Cylindrical shape Bag Filter, Rotary Airlock Valve below Bag Filter, Centrifugal Fan with Motor and Inter connecting Ducting.

TECHNICAL NOTES AND COMMENTS –

9. We recommend RIECO Make Ribbon Blender for blending of Mix Spices (Curry Powder).

10. Inclined Screw Conveyor is recommended for dosing of CHILLY, TURMERIC AND DRY GINGER / PEEPER powder into Ribbon Blender. For Mixed Spices

11. We suggest to grind CHILLY, TURMERIC and DRY GINGER separately and then to be dosed in to blender for final mixing.

12. Turmeric as a raw material is of average size 10 mm Ǿ x 50—80 mm long which needs to be pre crushed to ~ 4-5 mm even size particles for better capacity and fineness.
Similarly for Chilly we recommend use of Micro Pulveriser Bar Rotor for Pre Crushing and then Final Grinding.
Turmeric and Chilly thus pulverized on above machines can be used for both dosing purpose in Mix Spices (Curry Powder) and for selling separately.

13. Same process as stated for Turmeric Grinding is to be followed for Dry Ginger Grinding.

TECHNICAL NOTES AND COMMENTS & PROCESS DETAILS
CHILLY GRINDING SYSYTEM

In past we had experienced few problems with Chilly Grinding. Red Chillies available in Bangladesh contain high Moisture Content to the tune of about 11-12 % due to specific Climatic Conditions of bangladesh. Compared to India Relative Humidity is also on higher side and for longer period of year in Bangladesh. Due to this except in summer and winter seasons Spices like Chilly absorb high moisture levels, which cannot be reduced by any natural means.

As you may be aware Moisture presence in any product to be ground affects its properties, Grindability and Fineness. Considering specific climatic conditions prevailing in Bangladesh we recommend USE OF FLUDISED BED HOT AIR DRYER for reducing Moisture content from chilly. We have conducted extensive trials at our end and found results quite encouraging. Process is as follows :

  1. Chilly along with stem, seed and pericarp shall be fed continuously to RIECO 3 W Pulveriser for pre cutting. 3 W Pulveriser fitted with 10 mm Screen is to be used for Pre Cutting of whole chilly to size of 3-4 mm even pieces. Considering Pungent nature of Chilly we recommend use of Product Collection System for 3 W Pulveriser. In present Offer it is not included however if you need the same please inform to enable us Quote.
  2. This Pre Cut Chilly is immediately fed to a Fluidisd Bed Hot Air Dryer. Chilly in batch of 300 Kgs. is dried for a period of 30 Min. at Air Inlet temperature of 60-70 oC.
  3. The dried chilly shall now be fed to the RIECO 4TH Pulveriser for final grinding to the required size. The ground material is collected in a Product Collection System for TOTAL DUST FREE OPERATION. If required a Vibrating Sieve to be kept below Bag Filter to separate oversize particles.
  4. Oversize material shall be fed back to the grinder whereas the undersize material may be stored or alternatively sent to the Packing Plant.
  5. The above plant shall be capable of producing chilly of different particle size distribution to meet market requirements.
  6. The variation in the particle size may be achieved on line through the variation of airflow and feed rate during the grinding operation.

TURMERIC GRINDING PLANT

Turmeric Plant is designed for grinding of turmeric at a capacity of 500-550 kg/hr. The plant is capable of processing turmeric fingers and bulbs of different sizes available in the market.

Technical Notes And Comments & Process Details

Material shall be fed continuously through a vibratory feeder to a RIECO 3 W Pulveriser to reduce the particle size to 3 – 5 mm.

The output of the pre-grinder shall then be fed to the RIECO 4TH Pulveriser along with the product collection system to obtain turmeric powder of the desired size.

CORIANDER GRINDING SYSTEM

During Grinding of Coriander if the Temp. exceeds 45 oC it starts releasing Oil/Fat making is difficult to Grind and achieve required Fineness and Capacities. Grinding of coriander seeds needs to be carried out in presence of cold air at a temperature of 8 – 10oC. The ground coriander shall then be sieved to obtain the necessary product fineness. Oversize shall be fed back to the grinder through a pneumatic conveying system.

We recommend Air Chilling Plant, Pulveriser with Product Collection System for Coriander Grinding.
